Happy New Year or felix año nuevo to all our Owners and clients. I do hope you had an enjoyable and peaceful festive break wherever you were in the world.

Despite all the anxiety and concern of current domestic issues there always seems to be the dependable on living here in Spain.  Currently, we are enjoying warm southerly airflows which brought temperatures up to the high 20’s on New Year’s Day and for the first week of the New Year we have experienced clear blue skies with some fantastic sunrises in the early morning hours.  Traditional festive celebrations continued as always with the last of the Christmas being the “Three King’s celebration” on 6th January. Families attend or take part in the many processions and this year we went to see the parade in El Algar near Cartagena.  As ever we are made to feel very welcome and we always seem to find or try out a new and very inexpensive place to eat out afterwards.  So despite whatever may be going on around there is in Spain still the core belief that the well being of families and communities are a focus and an essential ingredient to Spanish life.

For certain 2012 will provide us with some interesting developments. We are involved in renting a number of apartments at Corvera Golf & Country Club to senior executives been brought into work at the new International airport at Corvera in the heart of the region. From our monthly visits there it does seem extremely likely we will see the first commercial flights operating there in the autumn.  Measures are being put into place to bring the airline staff over from San Javier to Corvera for a start date of 1 October 2012.

In the Spring we will await with bated breath the decision on the final go- ahead for development of the Paramount studios project at Alhama de Murcia and I look forward to keeping you right up to date with the News as it happens.

In the New Year the Spanish Government has announced that they will maintain the reduced 4% VAT rate on the sale of new and key ready homes to further assist investment into the region.  We have been able to confirm this positive news with our legal department and with the Spanish tax authorities.

Our 5 regional offices have been working hard over the Christmas break to ensure that the prices of our resales properties are the most competitive in the region.  We have wide range of apartments for sale starting at just 45.000euros for a 1 bedroom apartment in San Pedro, 80.000euros for an apartment at La Torre Golf Resort and 120.000euros for a ground floor apartment at Roda Golf & Beach Resort.IMG_1542

terrazas_de_la_torre_004Long Term rental prices are also extremely economical with prices starting at 295euros per month for a brand new penthouse apartment at Terrazas de la Torre, and 300euros per month for a wide variety of 2 bedroom apartments and villas.

We have been busy encouraging people to come and visit the region for their holidays in our wide and varied selection of accommodation, be it either a villa on a luxury golf resort or an apartment on the beach.  We guarantee that the accommodation is maintained to the highest standards and we strive to ensure you enjoy a relaxing stress free break. Murcia is only a 2 hour flight away from most UK locations and with Sterling strengthening against the euro the Costa Calida and Murcia region offer good value for money fun filled family holidays.
